Hello!

I am sure you are wondering where this all started. Well it is something I had been talking about for a long time, but during the Covid crisis I kept thinking I wish there was something like what I want to provide on the market.

I was very aware that I could run out of the vegetables that my beloved parrots needed. My family have dried food for a long time and I spoke to one of my cousins who is a nutritionist. I wanted to be certain that drying food would not damage the nutritional content of the quality vegetables that I planned to prepare. while I was confident myself that everything was okay, there’s nothing like hearing from somebody in the know that you are on the right track.

Carefully drying food can preserve the nutritional content. So in effect you will have carefully prepared vegetables sent straight to your door.

You will only need to add some hot water and allow them to cool before serving to your bird. I am only accepting the highest quality vegetables  from one of our local Orkney wholesalers.

Please note not all of the vegetables are grown in Orkney at this time although I am working hard to ensure this for the future.

After quite a process (including lab testing of the food I was making) I am happy to say that Orkney Parrots was launched on the 1st of September 2020.
